HGH or human growth hormone is a synthetic growth hormone manufactured in a lab, designed to replace growth hormone that is not manufactured in proper amounts by the pituitary gland.
The pituitary gland is responsible for manufacturing and secreting a number of hormones, one of which is growth hormone (GH), more commonly known as HGH (human growth hormone).
Growth hormone released by the pituitary gland also stimulates other growth factors in the body including insulin-like growth factor-1, secreted by the liver. When growth hormone and IGF-1 make their way through the bloodstream, they provide every cell in the body with the capability to grow, replicate, heal, or help protect it against damage.
Growth hormone and IGF-1 are filled with chemicals that encourage cells to grow. It’s because of this growth that bodybuilders and athletes often look to HGH injections to accelerate and enhance their muscle building efforts.
However, HGH injections are prescription only. They are not recommended for nonmedical reasons. They are meant as a replacement of growth hormone not made by the body due to disease or malfunction.
Injections in healthy bodies can have a huge impact on a number of body systems and functions. Injecting it in any form into the body when levels are already adequate based on age can contribute to a number of HGH side effects.
When it comes to an HGH gut, also known as palumboism, distended stomach, GH gut or HGH belly, be aware of what it is, what causes it, and what you can do about it.
An HGH extended belly is basically a protruding belly, like the aforementioned beer belly. It may not be as obvious or large, but again, that depends individualized case scenarios. Find out more here.
Side effects associated with HGH include but are not limited to:
Bodybuilders who take excessive amounts of growth hormone or other drugs like anabolic steroids may end up with what is commonly known in the bodybuilding field as steroid belly or GH belly. Why? Think about it.
Growth hormone makes things grow. One of the more serious side effects/adverse reactions of injecting higher than recommended levels of growth hormone in the body are enlarged organs.
Organ enlargement can occur in any organ, but it is most prevalently seen in the heart muscle, leading to an enlarged heart or a condition known as cardiomyopathy, as well as enlarged intestines. This enlargement of the intestines in the abdominal cavity causes the belly to bulge or protrude forward.
Anyone interested in injecting HGH into the body without a prescription (which is illegal) should be aware of such potential health risks. Enlargement of the organs due to excessive levels of HGH is not a normal condition and should not be ignored.
Scientific research has not verified the long term efficacy or safety of HGH injections on muscle building, nor its ability to significantly improve athletic performance.
Enlarged intestines and the cause that GH gut or HGH gut, is also not normal and can contribute to a number of not only digestive issues, but the way the intestines absorb nutrients. High levels of HGH in the body can also affect metabolic functions as well as the activities of other hormones, including insulin.
Most bodybuilders will agree that HGH before and after can affect the body in a number of ways, but when it comes to GH gut, many believe that growth hormone is not to blame.
To avoid it, the simple answer would be to avoid getting HGH for sale, which increases the risk of abnormal reactions. However, there remains disagreement among bodybuilders as to whether growth hormone actually contributes to HGH gut.
Can HGH belly be blamed on HGH alone? Many say no. Many believe that the high calorie intake used by bodybuilders (some as high as 6,000 calories a day) contributes to the inability of the intestines to digest food efficiently, stretching the gut.
Don’t put your health at risk. If you notice a protruding “GH gut” decrease use of drugs, schedule a visit with the doctor, and get a checkup.
